THREE NEW HOUSES ARE UNDER CONSTRUCTION BY HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF HENDRICKS COUNTY.
If you have been up North Vine Street in Plainfield in the past year, you noticed a great change in that area as Habitat for Humanity of Hendricks County had four homes built for our partner families now living in that area. Soon, a fifth family will call N. Vine Street home as construction on another house was started in April. Each home is distinctively different from each other and have helped improve that area of town. Our partner Families who now call Plainfield home are very excited to have another family moving in the area in the near future.
The pictures below were taken on Saturday August 4th when the employees of White Castle were volunteering and doing interior work installing doors, putting up trim, etc. Our partner Family member scheduled to receive this house when it is completed is pictured in front of the house. In the second picture, the volunteers are enjoying White Castles for lunch.
Two additional lots were purchased last year on N. East Street in Danville last year for the 2007 building season. Construction has already begun on building two new Habitat homes in that area as well. When completed, we will have constructed nine houses in the main part of Danville.
The Partner Families scheduled to receive these three homes are busy putting in their sweat equity hours in order to qualify to purchase these houses when completed.
Anyone interested in helping with construction are welcome to come out to the job site on Saturdays beginning at 8:00am. For more information regarding volunteering in construction or with other facts of Habitat can contact the office at 272-1405 or by e-mail at hchfh@sbcglobal.net
