Volunteers are the life blood of any Habitat Affiliate. Everyone enjoys going out to a build site and help construct a new home for a partner family by pounding nails, putting up walls, roofing, putting up siding, installing cabinets, painting walls, landscaping or doing any of the other tasks involved in the construction phase of our work. However, while construction is the most visible element of what we do, there are a host of other volunteer positions we must fill at our Hendricks County Affiliate before the first nail is driven. Volunteers are essential in the following areas for us to function. To serve on our Board of Directors To serve on the following committees Church Relations Construction Fund Raising Family Support Family Selection Site Selection To serve as family advocates To serve as Volunteer coordinators To perform Office work Public Relations News Letters All these functions are the backbone which makes driving nails possible. For more information on how you can help, call the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays at (317) 272-1405 and talk to Betty Obenauf, our Office Administrator. Betty will be more than willing to answer your questions and put you in contact with the appropriate people to put your skills and interests to work helping our Affiliate grow. You may also attend our regular monthly Committee Workshop Night and talk with people involved in areas of your interest. We meet the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm at the United Methodist Church on US 36, west of SR 267 beside McDonalds in Avon.
